Today’s top Detroit jazz musicians return to Orchestra Hall to form the Paradise Jazz Theatre Big band, honoring Detroit’s legacy of jazz and the Paradise Valley and Black Bottom neighborhoods that served as a beacon of black culture from 1920–1950.

One-night-only, experience this dynamic group of multi-generational musicians performing genre-bending original compositions and hard-hitting music, including the world premiere of “Stop Apologizing for Being Human,” a composition by bandleader Kris Johnson.
